My name is Pyotr. I'm a civic activist.
In 2020, I did a lot for the yard community — I participated in yard march patrols and took out security cameras along the route of the convoys. I painted graffiti and pasted stickers calling for a strike. Helping families of detainees. Only from our 4 houses 5 people are sitting or are on “chemo” under Article 342 (342 of the Criminal Code — organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them).
A few weeks ago my friend, with whom we were active together in 2020, was detained. Now he is in Zhodzina, and most likely he will be sentenced in a criminal case. A little later, another friend of mine was detained, but for 24 hours. They were very interested in me.
I realized that it was not safe to stay in Belarus, so I left urgently.
That's how I ended up in Georgia. With a minimum of belongings and almost no money. I need help in renting accommodation for a few months until I find a permanent job.
