Alexander Kravchuk from Kobryn is 57 years old. After arrest, a correctional facility, and deportation from Belarus, he and his daughter were left without means of subsistence. Alexander urgently needs a leg prosthesis replacement, as well as money to live on.
Alexander Kravchuk is a former political prisoner. In 2024, he was sentenced to 4.5 years in a general-security correctional facility under Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (“Facilitating extremist activity”). On December 13, 2025, he was released and forcibly deported from Belarus as part of a large group of political prisoners.
Alexander now lives in Poland with his underage daughter.
“I am 57 years old; I lost my leg back in 2016 after a serious accident. The prosthesis I have is effectively destroyed — walking is becoming more and more painful and difficult.”
He lost his leg in 2016 after a gas cylinder exploded in a car – shrapnel tore off his leg below the knee. After the tragedy, Kravchuk spent many years seeking compensation, clashed with officials, sued state bodies, and spoke about injustice. In recent years, the authorities increased pressure on him: he was fined, pro-government media wrote about him, and then a criminal case was opened against him.
The old prosthesis is practically destroyed and does not allow him to move around normally. Alexander is in constant pain, has limited mobility, and cannot fully rebuild his life after prison and deportation. He is unable to walk, work, care for his daughter, or simply live without daily pain.
Any help will allow Alexander to undergo prosthetics and start life in exile anew.
“Thank you to everyone who helps, supports, and does not remain indifferent!” Alexander says gratefully.
