The project “Psychological Support for Children with the Experience of Emigration, Including Children with Autism” was launched by Fundacja Zachód Wschód Wsparcie to help children who have undergone major life changes grow into confident, calm, and happy adults.
Moving to another country means losing a familiar world, friends, language, and daily routine. For a child, this is a tremendous amount of stress. And for a child with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), it is stress multiplied by ten. New sounds, smells, rules, people, school, and language can all cause anxiety, fear, and emotional burnout.
Every child deserves to feel safe, understood, and able to grow in a world where they are accepted. But for children who have experienced emigration, especially children with autism, the path to this feeling becomes much more difficult.
What do we do?
- provide individual and group sessions with psychologists
- create safe spaces for communication and adaptation
- train educators to work with migrant children and children with ASD
- support parents, who often find themselves in crisis as well
- help children find friends, confidence, and a sense of belonging
Why do we need your help?
For the program run by Fundacja Zachód Wschód Wsparcie to continue operating, we need:
- funding for psychologists and ASD specialists
- materials for classes and sensory therapy
- rental of premises
- interpreters and assistants
- organization of support groups and adaptation activities
