Help for a former political prisoner to make a life in Poland

  • Story

Hello!

My name is Anton. Due to the fact that my relatives are in Belarus and I am on the list of “persons involved in terrorist activities”, I cannot give my real name [name changed for security reasons, BYSOL Foundation has all identification documents].

In 2021, I was detained for commenting on the “Zeltser case” — Article 130 of the Criminal Code (incitement of racial, national, religious or other social enmity or discord). Later two more articles were added to my case.

There was a trial. I was sentenced to two years of imprisonment under general regime. I served the whole term and was recently released.

Now I am in Warsaw. I work various jobs and take courses in Data Science. But because I had to leave the country urgently, I don't have money to buy a normal computer, which is necessary for my future work.

I'm also in constant anxiety because of lack of money for even the most basic things like buying food and renting a room.

Please help. I need money to get back on my feet and start living again.
