My name is Sergey (name has been changed for security reasons, BYSOL has all identification documents). I am a former volunteer in Ukraine.
Before I became military, I lived an ordinary peaceful life at my home in Belarus. However, I always supported democratic society and even took part in some actions. But 2020 brought my activism to a new level.
After many peaceful actions, of which I was a participant, a criminal case was opened against me and my relatives. So my family and I decided to leave for Ukraine, where we continued to fight for a free Belarus. But the war changed all plans.
I could not stay aside, so from the first days I participated in hostilities: I went to serve in volunteer formations, and even later — in the AFU (International Legion) and fought in different directions.
But at some point I realized that it was time for me to leave the army and take up a peaceful life. So I left the service and we moved to a small town in Poland to a friend's house.
In the new place I tried to return to peaceful life and legalize myself. I learned the language and got a job. However, I realized that it was very hard to pull it all on my own, without help.
Firstly, my psychological health condition does not allow me to look at reality adequately,
Secondly, for many employers, the fact that I fought in the war is not the best recommendation.
In short, I need help.
I want to undergo a minimal medical examination, get a psychologist, and after that I want to improve my language skills and improve my qualifications so that I don't have to work part-time all the time. But most importantly, I hope to establish my life for normal socialization in society.

How much is needed?

€250 — medical examination
€500 — 10 sessions with a psychologist
€350 for refresher courses
€400 — for household needs and food while I solve my problems
€1500 — accommodation for 2 months + deposit
