My name is Dmitriy Abramuk, I am a former political prisoner. I was given 2 years of “chemistry” for the “roundhouse case” in Brest and then another 2 years for “insulting the president”. All in all, 3 years came out — a case of bureaucracy.
Half a year after the trial the administration of the penal colony started to put pressure on me because I did not admit my guilt. I was kept in a punishment cell for 120 days from December 5, 21 to April 24, 22. Then they gave me a red tag to keep me under special control. After that I was transferred to the colony (i.e. the punishment was made tougher), where I spent 1 year, 1 month and 17 days.
In the colony, I was placed in a cell-type facility for 4.5 months.
I was released on April 22nd, 23rd. Every Sunday for two years I had to report to the police. Also, officers often came to my house. In addition, in December 2022 I was included in the list of extremists.
A month after my release I secretly left Belarus because I feared for my health and freedom.
