Sergei Krupenich and his wife Anastasia Krupenich-Kondratieva received another 15 days of arrest on November 5 for forwarding messages to each other from telegram channels recognized as extremist in Belarus, but on the same day, despite the court order, they were released from Okrestin detention center without any explanation.
The spouses were tried nine times under Article 19.11 of the CAO. Each trial takes place under the same article — 19.11 of the CAO, distribution of extremist materials. The court considered as “dissemination” the fact that the spouses had forwarded to each other the posts from the telegram channels, recognized as “extremist” by the Belarusian authorities. Human rights activists declared the family political prisoners.
They spent a total of 224 days in jail, including nine convictions.
