My name is Gleb, I am 33 years old, I was born and lived in Minsk, I have a secondary education.
Even as a child, I noticed that in different countries presidents change, but in ours – they do not. Therefore, in 2020, I willingly joined the protests, hoping for political change.
Since the beginning of the summer, I tried to attend all sorts of political events, pickets, marches, met Severinets and Kozlov. In my area, where I lived, I helped protesters with transport, money, bought water in stores and brought it to Borovaya (the authorities deliberately turned it off), came to the temporary detention center and drove people who were released to the hospital or home, supplying them with everything they needed.
In October 2020, security forces came to my place with a search, they were looking for weapons, explosives, but of course they found nothing. They confiscated my hard drives, interrogated me at the police station about my attitude towards the protests, and after all that, to my surprise, they let me go.
From that moment on, I stopped actively participating in protest activities, but I still remained the administrator of the Telegram channel “Typical Serebryanka”. No one touched me for two years, but in December 2022, I was arrested right at home, and later convicted for participating in rallies in 2020 and for administering a district chat.
I was released in September 2024 and saw that I could not see life in Belarus for myself until the government changed. It took some time to process the documents and obtain a Polish humanitarian visa, and here I am in Poland.
I had to sell all the personal property I had, because there was no means of subsistence after the colony. I stretched this money as best I could while I was waiting for the documents to be processed, during the move, and after, trying to settle in Wroclaw. However, the money ran out, and new problems have just begun.
Having applied for international protection, I lost the right to work officially for about 6 months. I have nothing to pay rent with, nothing to sell anymore, and the future looks bleak. I am looking for any part-time jobs, but so far I do not have enough even for basic needs.
I ask for help for the first time, since this expectation of legalization and absolute lack of money drive me to despair. I dream that I am deported to Belarus and again go through the stage.
I will be grateful to everyone who can support me at least a little. Zhyvie Belarus!
