I served in the militia in 2020 and when the protests happened, I defiantly tore my uniform in solidarity with the people. In addition, I wrote some unflattering comments to my former colleagues.
The court considered the comments to be a threat to life and sentenced me to 2.5 years in prison. I was also charged with a financial claim, which I am forced to gradually pay.
In the colony, I earned type 2 diabetes and now I will have to take medication for the rest of my life.
Taking into account how vindictive the authorities are towards the “betrayal” of former employees, after my release I will be 100% prevented from living in peace in Belarus. Therefore, I need to prepare the ground in advance to quickly leave the country and take my family (my wife, son and two daughters). Otherwise, I will stay in jail as long as the dictatorship remains in power.
