Political prisoner released from prison needs financial assistance

  • Story

Hello, Belarusians and not indifferent people!
Like every honest Belarusan, I have understood all my life that one should fight for one's fate and freedom.

Probably, brother-Belarus, we stood next to you on the Square in December 2010 and froze, hoping for the best. Probably, brother-Belarus, we stood next to you at Stop Petrol in 2011 and at silent protests. Most likely, we always bought things with Belarusan symbols in the same stores and were impressed by the premieres in the Kupalov Theater. We wrote letters to Palchis together when John Silver was detained for the first time (Eduard Palchis, social media nickname John Silver is a well-known political blogger and public figure, currently recognized as a political prisoner and serving a 13-year sentence — BYSOL note), rejoiced for political prisoners who were released in 2013-2014.

With you, we stood together at the protests and in 2020. Hoping for the best, we believed that our flag of victory would be on every square of our beautiful Minsk. We were hurt together when it didn't work out. We were hurt when the best people of our country began to die. When prisons swallowed up the light of the nation. We were with you when we helped our brotherly people when crazy dictators pulled thousands of people into the next world. And we were with you when prison took a year and a half of my life in 2022.

I was lucky, though, and in this Belarusian roulette I received only one and a half years of imprisonment. A year and a half of suffering for my family and people who cared about me. Having held out, immediately after my release, I and my family decided to leave the country, so that these one and a half years would not turn into something even more terrible.

Unfortunately, while I was in jail, most of my savings went to lawyers and transfers. After moving to the EU, I will have to start all over again. It takes time to get my nerves back to normal. To restore my professional skills to be able to work and continue helping people.

Zhyve Belarus!
