Belarusian volunteer fighter and combat medic “Vakula” helps evacuate the wounded and ensures the safety of his group on the front line. This fundraiser is for equipment that people’s lives depend on.
Hello, friends!
My name is Mikhailo, and my call sign is “Vakula.” I am a platoon combat medic. Since the beginning of 2023, I have been taking part in the defense of Ukraine against Russian aggression.
I previously reached out for support when I was transferring between units and needed additional equipment. Thanks to your help, I was able to remain in service and continue my work. But modern warfare demands more. Today, it is not enough to know only how to shoot or only how to provide medical assistance. Today, those who survive are the ones who can simultaneously identify threats, organize extraction, and save the lives of their people.
That is why my role has changed as well. I have evolved from a medic into a specialist who prepares extraction routes, monitors dangerous areas, works with drones, ensures the engineering safety of the group, and helps the wounded directly during missions.
My experience is needed not only in Ukraine. One day, Belarus will also need people who know how to protect and save lives.
This service is physically and psychologically demanding. There are periods of extreme fatigue, burnout, and disappointment. But for me, the question of “leaving for somewhere peaceful” does not exist. As long as this war continues, I will remain in service.
Today, I need help once again.
In the fifth year of the war, the supply system is overloaded. Basic items are not issued in full, and equipment that directly affects operational effectiveness and the group’s survival often has to be awaited for months or purchased independently.
And on the front line, waiting means risking the loss of lives.
That is why I am asking for your support in purchasing the equipment I need for my work.
